Ecotourism is of vital importance to the conservation of the tropical Amazon Rainforest. In order to achieve this goal, the Yachana Foundation opened Yachana Lodge and Protected Reserve of more than 1,800 hectares close to the small community of Mondaña in the province of Napo in Ecuador.
The tropical rainforest is hot and humid with an average temperature of 27°C and an average rainfall of 3,000 mm per year with a relative humidity of 92%.
Yachana Lodge is an internationally recognized Amazonian eco-lodge that aims to teach visitors and local inhabitants about the rich diversity of the Amazon and the importance of its conservation.
